Something in the Mundane
On display in the Mini Gallery, Visual Arts Building at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado | October 7th - 11th, 2024
Something in the Mundane was a mid-degree retrospective exhibition of work produced during my first five semesters pursuing my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree.
Exhibition Statement: “I center my life and artistic practice around the premise that everything is art when you frame it to be. I focus on finding the beauty, the joy, the absurd, the “something” in my mundane day-to-day life. I use art as an opportunity to observe my environment, always searching for little details as sparks of inspiration. While working mainly in process-based and multi-step media such as printmaking and fibers, I use my material as a guide of where to go next. I work towards challenging myself to let go of control and focus on highlighting the beauty and intrigue in every intentional or incidental form.”
